Teen faces drug-dealing charges
A 17-year-old Tega Cay resident has been charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
The teen was stopped for suspicion of speeding while driving along Tega Cay Drive last week. Police say the officer allegedly smelled marijuana while writing a ticket to the suspect. When questioned, the teen, identified as Jason Robert Menchinger, appeared very nervous and began to tremble, the report states.
During a search of Menchinger’s vehicle, police allegedly found a substance believed to be marijuana, a digital scale and a grinder inside a backpack in the backseat, according to the report. Menchinger was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute.
Report: Boat stolen from Greenway
A pontoon boat used to maintain ponds in the Anne Springs Close Greenway has been stolen, according to a Fort Mill Police report.
The report states greenway officials reported the boat missing March 29. It is believed someone took the boat from a pond near the archery range. Greenway officials told police the boat had been stripped of its motor and was used to perform work in the ponds. No suspects have been named. The boat is valued at $1,000.
