The Fort Mill Times introduces two new staff members.
Caroline Wells has joined the newspaper as a Sales Account Executive. A 2007 graduate of Fort Mill High School, she studied at Clemson University and graduated magna cum laude from Coastal Carolinawith a degree in communications. Wells, who was a member of the Clemson cheerleading squad, minored in business management at Coastal Carolina.
Wells was born in Rock Hill and her family relocated to Fort Mill when she was a child. Involved in several charitable causes and activities while growing up in Fort Mill, she became involved with St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and held the title of Miss Teen Fort Mill.
“I feel like this is an exciting new phase in my life. Having the opportunity to build new relationships with my hometown business community is quite an honor,” Wells said. “Being close to my family and friends is an added benefit which makes this an ideal situation for me.”

Also joining the Fort Mill Times recently is David Thackham, a rising senior journalism major at Winthrop University who is working as a reporter through late summer. He joined the newspaper through a paid internship arranged and funded by the S.C. Press Association.
Thackham, of Walhalla, has served with Winthrop’s student newspaper, The Johnsonian, for three years. After studying abroad in Ireland for the past semester, Thackham will return to The Johnsonian this fall as sports editor. He served as news editor in 2012.
Thackham has freelanced with the Times’ sister daily, The Herald, in Rock Hill.
