Here I am, writing a column about moving into our Fort Mill community and now we are moving.
But don’t worry, we aren’t going far. We are moving to the city of Tega Cay, only about 10 miles from our Fort Mill home.
Cherie` and I have enjoyed living in the Regent Manor community and have loved the home we’ve been in. But things simply haven’t worked out for us to remain in it long-term, so we had to locate somewhere else. After weeks of searching we stumbled upon the cozy little city of Tega Cay.
Like many people, Cherie` and I love to be near the water and Tega Cay sits by beautiful Lake Wylie. We enjoy boating, kayaking, and hiking. There have been several times when we have ventured to Tega Cay to admire the fine homes and well-planned neighborhoods. We even imagined that we might one day live there. And when things didn’t work out with our current home in Fort Mill, we simply had to make a move.
Quite fortuitously we were able to find a beautiful home within our budget on a peaceful cul-de-sac.
And here is the really cool thing: The Winships will move to the Anchorage community, and living on Mariners Court. We think the Winships have found safe harbor in which to anchor the family ship.
And I suppose the lesson in all of this is that any transition is hard work. Physically moving a household is hard work. Developing new relationships and becoming involved in a new community takes time. So if you have recently moved into the Fort Mill area, be patient. Get involved where you can, locate a house of worship so you can remember to give thanks to God for the life you have and the opportunities that are yours.
No situation is perfect, but rest assured that your life and situation are in the hands of a God that cares for you and wants to give you His peace wherever life’s journey takes you.
Find joy in the journey.
