Thanks for stopping to help!
My faith in the care, concern and kindness of the American people readily surfaced once again!
On Tuesday, Sept. 2, I found myself somewhat in distress as my car experienced mechanical problems. There I was with the hood up on the ramp at Exit 85 off I-77 north at the light at Highway 160 in the Baxter area of Fort Mill.
During my 3 1/2-hour wait in the sweltering 93 degree heat for a AAA tow truck, I was impressed that 24-25 cars (10 of which were women) stopped and rolled down their window and repeatedly asked if I needed help or something to drink.
Never miss a local story.
One lady handed me a cool bottle of water as did one of the men. A SCDOT truck stopped and the driver had me sit in his cool truck for more than an hour while still waiting for the tow truck.
The kindness and generosity of so many concerned people shows the goodness of the American people is still alive and well! Please relay my thanks to all of you who offered assistance on such a hot day!
