Earlier this fall, Emily Anders, 7, who lives with her family in Fort Mill’s Waterstone neighborhood, raised $192 for the Alzheimer’s Association by selling lemonade and homemade baked goods.
“My daughter came up with this idea on her own and I helped her by baking some items and posting information on Facebook,” said Emily’s mom, Adrienne Anders. “Her previous fundraising efforts included helping her father coordinate a motorcycle charity ride benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association.”
Adrienne Anders served as captain of a multi-state team that participated in The Walk to End Alzheimer’s held in Rock Hill on Oct. 4.
“Over the past two years, our collective team in South Carolina and Pennsylvania has raised over $30,000 to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association to further research and awareness for this dreadful disease,” she said.
