The Fort Mill High School football team improved its record to 4-1 with a come-from-behind road win over West Florence Friday night.
Jackets quarterback Rogan Wells sparked the comeback with a 50-yard, fourth-quarter touchdown run.
“That was the play of the game,” Fort Mill coach Ed Susi to the Florence Morning News. “That run was unbelievable. He’s a special kid, and he made a special play when we needed it.”
Fort Mill, trailing 17-14 before Rogan's run, won 21-17.
The Yellow Jackets led 7-3 at the half. All-purpose back Chandler Kryst scored first for Fort Mill on a 29-yard touchdown. Kryst had 167 yards rushing in the game and running back Malik Long pounded out 73 yards of his own. Wells finished with 63 yards passing and 84 yards on the ground.
Fort Mill plays at home Friday against Northwestern. It's the annual Pink-Out game and fans are encouraged to wear pink to show support for the fight against breast cancer. Special Pink-Out T-shirts and other gear will be for sale at the game. All proceeds benefit causes dedicated to fighting breast cancer.
