Health fair Wednesday in Rock Hill
ROCK HILL The Piedmont Regional Association of Realtors, Piedmont Medical Center and The Heart2Heart Foundation will hold a health and wellness fair 8 a.m. to noon March 12 in the Palmetto Room, 150 E. White St. The event originally was scheduled for January but was rescheduled.
About 40 vendors will participate. There will be free health screenings and information about wellness programs and services available in York County.
The event is a kick-off to Heart Month, with Piedmont Medical Center offering free heart health screenings including cholesterol, BMI, blood glucose and blood pressure checks. Advance Heart Health Risk Assessments, which include bloodwork, a 12-lead EKG and a review by a board-certified cardiologist, cost $39.95 and can be scheduled by calling 803-329-1234, ext. 2.
Both heart-health screenings require fasting.

Applications accepted for Ag + Art Tour
YORK COUNTY Plans for the first Catawba Regional Ag + Art Tour are underway and applications for farmers and artisans are being accepted through March 18.
The event will be June 21-22 at local farms in Chester, Fairfield, Lancaster and York counties. Tours will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. The tour is a free event.

Realtor earns GRI designation
FORT MILL Janet Sweeney of Lake Wylie earned the Allen Tate Co. Graduate Realtor Institute designation.
Sweeney works with the Fort Mill office of Allen Tate.
GRI designation requires completing a series of classes with 90 hours of instruction covering a variety of subjects.
Windy Hill open weekends starting in April
YORK Windy Hill Orchard & Cidery in York will be opening for weekends in April and May.
This is the first year the orchard will be open to the public in spring. The outdoor cider bar will be open for tastings of the award-winning hard ciders Saturday and Sunday.

Assisted living center breaks ground
TEGA CAY Work has begun on Wellmore at Tega Cay, a $35.5 million assisted-living community at the corner of S.C. 160 and Stonecrest Boulevard.
When finished, the 12.5-acre site will have 152 housing units, and a clubhouse with a dining hall and fitness room. The center will have a capacity of 210 and will employ about 130. The center will have have a registered nurse on-site.
Construction is expected to take 14 months, with an anticipated opening in summer 2015.
Wellmore at Tega Cay will offer three levels of housing: assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing. As planned, there will be 80 assisted care units capable of housing 120 people; 24 memory care units with a capacity of 30 for people with Alzheimer’s disease or similar conditions, and 48 skilled nursing units with a capacity of 60.
