Leo Club’s inaugural meeting Wednesday
CLOVER The public is invited to attend the Clover Lake Wylie Leo Club’s inaugural meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Clover Middle School.
The purpose of this newly chartered club sponsored by the River Hills Lions, is “to promote service activities among the youth of the community, which will develop the individual qualities of leadership, experience and opportunity (LEO), and unite its members in friendship, fellowship and mutual understanding.”
Clover Lake Wylie Leo team members already have packaged 10,000 meals for the Stop Hunger Now charity at the South Carolina’s Leo Club Conference. They are collecting recyclable items throughout Clover Middle School, maintaining the Gloria Reid Memorial Garden and the safety patrol.
Club hosts fashion show Wednesday
LAKE WYLIE The River Hills Women’s Club will meet Wednesday, March 19, at River Hills Country Club.
Judy Reed of Chico’s of Rock Hill will emcee a fashion show featuring the latest in women’s designer fashions and the latest fashion tips.

Ballroom Dance Club to hold dance
The Ballroom Dance Club will have its regular third Friday dance from 7:30 to 10:20 p.m. March 21 in the Oak Room of the Country Club Golf House, 101 Country Club Drive, Fort Mill. Dress code is dressy casual. All adult ages and dance skill levels are invited for Social Ballroom Dancing to ballroom music by DJ Rich Brausch. GOP yard sale Saturday for CAAC
LAKE WYLIE The Clover-Lake Wylie Republican Women will hold a White Elephant Sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, in the R.P. Boggs & Co. parking lot at Lake Wylie Plaza. Proceeds go to Clover Area Assistance Center Easter meal program.

Golf tournament March 25
ROCK HILL The Optimist Club of Rock Hill will hold its 11th annual Charity Golf Tournament March 25 at the newly renovated Rock Hill Country Club golf course.
The Captain’s Choice tournament begins with a shot gun start at 12:30 p.m.
The entry fee for a four-person team is $300, including lunch.
A silent auction begins at 11 a.m. and runs through the tournament. It is open to the public.
Hole sponsorships are available for $50.
Proceeds support Police Worthy Boys and Girls Camp, Children’s Attention Home, Camp ARC Cheer for Children and other local youth projects.

GOP group to focus on U.S. Senate races
LAKE WYLIE The Clover-Lake Wylie Republican Women’s Club will hold a “Red to the Roots” town-hall style luncheon meeting to talk about South Carolina’s 2014 electoral cycle on March 28 at the River Hills Country Club. Emphasis will be on U.S. senatorial races.
Wes Climer, chairman of the York County Republican Party, will serve as moderator. A question and answer segment will follow the presentations.
The South Carolina Republican Party “Red to the Roots” campaign has as its focus the election of more Republicans to local office.
