I took photos after the rain washed in tons of trash (bottles, basketballs, Styrofoam, the usual).
My neighbor offered her help to begin the cleanup process. We walked out as far as we could into the water in boots with rakes.
She dragged a little gem, a bottle of syringes. This disturbs me as much as the horrible spills at Tega Cay. While I think most of us honor and respect our river, our water, others are unconsciously and consciously abusing it.
What can we do to help those who don’t care, care? Maybe photos like this, maybe bottles filled with syringes like this...it’s dangerous for all of us.
It just doesn’t seem to ever get better.
