A big crowd came out Aug. 7 to fish in the Thursday Night Tournament Trail.
“We had 49 boats show up,” said Erwin Gaston, co-organizer of the weekly tournament with Jeremy Cabe. “What a good showing, and we appreciate all the fishermen who come out and support the trail.”
After several weeks of rain, the skys were clear Aug. 7.
“No one could have asked for better weather to be on the lake,” he said.
Gaston said the lake level is at normal pool and a fisherman can find the type of water clarity they want to fish.
“There is muddy water up the lake to very clear water down the lake,” Gaston said.
The brother team Ron and Roger Farrow won the night with 14.43 pounds of bass. Second place went to Grady Oliver and Justin Scott with a close second at 14.40 pounds.
