With summer season winding down, so, too, does the weekly Thursday Night Tournament Trail. But not before heating up with the two-day fish off final Sept. 5-6.
Trail co-organizer Erwin Gaston said there is one more tournament Aug. 28, following a big show of teams Aug. 21.
“We had a really good turnout with 42 boats on a clear and warm Thursday night,” he said.
David Winters and Casey West were able to best the field with five bass that weighed in at 12.69 pounds.
Second place went to Robin Cairco and Mike Buschue with 12.11 pounds.
The big fish of the night weighed 4.77 pounds and was caught by Hunter Hicks.
The weekly trail continues through the end of August with the fish off Sept. 5-6. Registration is at 5:20 p.m Thursday at Buster Boyd Access Area.
Blast off is at 6:30 p.m. Entry fees cost $40 per boat. Trail sponsors are Academy Sports, Kangaroo Express and A-1 Adams Bail Bond.
