A Fort Mill teenager was arrested after sheriff’s deputies say he admitted to organizing a drinking party near a flea market and was later found with marijuana in his book bag.

On Sunday, the Pineville Police Department called York County sheriff’s deputies about a suspicious fire near the Barnyard Flea Market on N.C. 51 after firefighters were dispatched to the fire and realized that it was actually in York County, according to a sheriff’s report.

Deputies found three people near the fire with a cooler full of unopened beer cans and an open bottle of liquor.

Justin Visserman, 17, told deputies that the bottles were from a party he had organized, the report states. After deputies arrested Visserman, the report states, they searched his book bag and found a plastic jar filled with marijuana, a digital scale with marijuana residue and a glass pipe with marijuana residue, as well as a marijuana grater in his wallet.

Deputies charged Visserman with possession of marijuana and being a minor in possession of beer. He was released from the York County Detention Center the next day on a $1,090 bond.
