Deputies are investigating at least three burglaries in York where car break-ins were reported Thursday.

No one has been arrested but in all three cases at least one of the vehicle doors were unlocked, according to a York County Sheriff’s report.

In an incident on Cottage Creek Lane, the homeowner reported someone came through an unlocked garage door after a neighbor told the resident the outside door was open. Sunglasses were stolen from the BMW inside the garage, the report states.

A pair of incidents were reported on Brandt Road. In the first incident, the garage door was unlocked and an unknown person went inside and rifled through two vehicles, leaving doors open after leaving. Cash and a video game were stolen, the homeowner reported. Another vehicle outside the garage that was left unlocked had also been entered, the report stated. The homeowner told police he heard “giggling” overnight near the garage but thought at the time it could have been family members.

In the other incident on Brandt Road two unlocked vehicles were entered but nothing was stolen.

Police advise residents to lock vehicles at all times.
