A bullet narrowly missed hitting a man and 2-year-old child in Chester County on Sunday after deputies say a man upset that his girlfriend allegedly cheated on him held several people at gunpoint and then fired off shots.

Christopher Wayne Parker, 23, of Chester is charged with three counts of attempted murder, three counts of pointing and presenting a firearm and criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, according to a Chester County Sheriff’s report. He is held at the Chester County Detention Center without bond.

Deputies at about 1 a.m. were sent to a Woodsferry Road home, on the border between Chester and Union counties, after receiving calls that a bald man wearing a tank-top and blue jeans shot at several people inside the house, the report states. Deputies found the suspect, identified as Parker, standing on the front porch with a beer in his hand. Deputies ordered him to the ground, where they found several shell casings and a gun holster.

Four people who were in the house told deputies Parker went to the back bedroom, where two of the victims were listening to music. Parker accused one of them of having sex with his 21-year-old live-in girlfriend and mother of his two children. Parker pulled out a handgun, deputies reported, and put it to the man’s head before he cocked the gun. Parker asked the man again if he slept with his girlfriend before he threatened to kill him, the report states. The victim managed to get up and leave the house, but Parker followed him outside, where his girlfriend tried wresting the gun from his hands.

Another man had taken a child, a 2-year-old girl, outside to put her in the car and drive her and the other victims away, the report states. Parker walked up to him, pointed the gun at him and the girl and then fired. The shots went above their heads. The man put the child into the backseat of the car, lying on top of her to shield her from any more shots.

Parker began firing into the air as others scrambled back inside the house, the report states. He fired the gun at his girlfriend and another man, but the bullet hit the tree next to them. Parker then went back to his house, where deputies arrested him.
