A man who allegedly conspired with a woman to steal kitchen knives from a Rock Hill Walmart on Sunday held a pocket knife at an employee who tried to stop them and gave him the warning: “I’ll cut you,” police said.

At about 7 p.m., police were sent to the Walmart on Dave Lyle Boulevard after a loss prevention manager, 39, reported a possible shoplifting, according to a Rock Hill police report. He told officers that a woman with long dark hair, wearing a pink shirt and jeans shorts and carrying a black bag walked throughout the store with a man with a goatee, wearing a yellow shirt with wings on the back, dark pants and a do-rag as they “conspired to steal two kitchen knives.”

The woman took the knives from the shelf, the report states, then walked down the aisle as she placed the knives in her bag and met with the man in another part of the store. They then split up, the report states, and the woman headed for the door. The manager began approaching the woman until the man walked up next to him, held out a pocket knife and said, “Don’t touch her...I’ll cut you.”

Fearing for his safety, the manager ended his pursuit, but watched the pair walk towards Texas Roadhouse and Dental Works, the report states. Police were able obtain surveillance video of the pair, who arrived at the store in a silver Sedan possibly a Ford Crown Victoria or a Mercury Grand Marquis. Authorities issued an alert to surrounding law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for the two suspects, but they were not found by early Monday. Police are still investigating.
