A York man already facing marijuana possession charges allegedly rolled more pot into paper that had been ripped from the Bible. Deputies and drug agents say they realized what the bundle was after reading the “Scripture written on the paper.”
On Tuesday, York County Sheriff’s deputies and agents with the county’s multijurisdictional drug enforcement unit went to a home on Old York Road to serve a warrant on the 29-year-old man, charged with possession of marijuana, according to a Sheriff’s Office report. Investigators found the man at the house and placed him under arrest. On scene, they smelled marijuana.
A deputy found a marijuana-scented black wallet in his back pocket, the report states. Deputies continued searching and eventually found marijuana rolled in paper. The paper, deputies say, appeared to come from a page in the Bible. The man admitted the pot and Scripture-laden paper belonged to him.
It's unclear which passage of the Bible was on the paper.
