A Rock Hill man has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm after he used a stolen gun to shoot at another man over the weekend, according to a Rock Hill police report.

Javante Dixon, 21, was arrested after he fired one shot at a 31-year-old man on East White Street. The two men “had a beef,” the victim told police. They got into a verbal argument and Dixon pulled a handgun from his pants, pointed the gun at the victim, and fired one shot, the report states.

When police arrived at the scene, they saw Dixon running into a house, where he was with another man. Dixon put the gun, which was identified as stolen, under a bucket in the house.

As of Monday afternoon, Dixon was in custody at the York County Detention Center. His bond was denied.
