A Rock Hill man told police that it’s possible someone stole his truck while he was in church on Sunday.

Police at about 12:15 p.m. were sent to St. Matthews AME Zion Church on Lige Street after a man, 69, reported that his green 1999 Dodge Ram pickup truck was missing from the back parking lot, according to a Rock Hill police report. The owner told police the truck had been left unlocked and the keys were under the driver’s seat.

When he came out of church, he noticed the truck was gone, the report states. Several congregants told him they heard a car start up during the service at about 12:15 p.m., but no one actually saw the truck being stolen. The truck was not equipped with any kind of tracking or GPS software.

The truck owner declined to comment when reached on Monday.
