A started member at a Rock Hill church interrupted the apparent theft of the pastor’s laptop computer late Wednesday, but the suspect has so far eluded arrest.

In the incident at the Church of Christ on Charlotte Avenue, a person found a man wandering the back halls of the church with something under his arm, then tried to get the man to stop but the man fled on a bicycle. A search of the building found the laptop valued at $750 had been taken.

Police do not believe the incident to be connected to a Tuesday burglary at another Rock Hill church where $50 worth of food was stolen from the church pantry that serves the poor.
