A Fort Mill woman wanted in Kansas on a felony drug charge was arrested by Rock Hill police Thursday after she was the victim in a traffic collision, according to police.

Meaghan Monteith, 22, had been arrested a week before on drug charges in Fort Mill and released on $2,355 bond, despite having a pending assault charge and the Kansas warrant, court records show.

Monteith admitted to police she was a fugitive and will be held in jail until extradition to Kansas, according to a Rock Hill police report.

York County court records show that Monteith was charged last week by Fort Mill police with felony drug possession, two traffic tickets and another drug misdemeanor and later released after posting bond.

Court records also show that she faces assault charges from March, and in May she pleaded guilty in a York magistrate court to driving without a license.
