A Lancaster man allegedly stole headphones from the Walmart on Dave Lyle Boulevard in Rock Hill but it didn’t take long for employees to figure out who he was. The suspect had paid his cell phone bill at Walmart and used his name just minutes before the theft, according to a Rock Hill police report.

A store employee saw the man, 55, put a pair of headphones in his pants around 9 a.m. on Tuesday. When the employee confronted him, he ran out of the store, the report states. The man’s name was on a cell phone account he had just made a payment for before stealing the headphones.

The employee then identified the man from a photo lineup.

A warrant for shoplifting was issued for his arrest.
