An arrest has been made in connection with one of two shootings that occurred in Lancaster this week.

Late Monday, a 20-year-old man arrived at Spring Hospital with a non-threatening gunshot wound, according to a Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office release. Deputies arrived at 12th Street, where witnesses state that an unidentified person began shooting at a group of people where the victim was located.

Markivious Samuel, 22, was identified as a suspect in that shooting and is charged with attempted murder, three counts of weapons violations, and armed robbery, according to the sheriff’s office.

A second shooting occurred Tuesday night at Woodcreek Apartments on Meeting Street when two male suspects opened fire in the parking lot, the release states. The men shot at a particular car sitting in the lot. The driver sped out as soon as the shots were fired, hitting several cars. No one was injured in the shooting, officials say.

Investigators believe the shootings may be connected.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information to call 803-283-3388 or contact Crimestopper’s at 1-888-Crime SC. Anonymous tips may be left at www.midlandscrimestoppers.com.
