A Rock Hill man was charged with leaving the scene of an accident after allegedly waving a machete at another driver before striking another car twice and driving off, according to police reports.
A witness told police that she was stopped in traffic Thursday on Albright Road behind a red truck, the report states, when the driver of the red truck honked at the vehicle in front of him. The driver of the first vehicle got out of his car and then the driver of the truck got out with the machete before hitting the front car twice with his truck, the report states.
The driver of the truck, Nathan Pait, 28, left the scene and was pulled over by police several miles away on Interstate 77, police said. Pait told officers the driver of the other car was acting like he had a gun, and that’s why he pulled out the machete.
Pait was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and later released on a personal recognizance bond, according to Rock Hill jail officials.
