A Rock Hill man was charged with allegedly using his Cadillac for attempted murder, Rock Hill police say.
Darryl Gene Adkins III, 20, approached his 35-year-old ex-girlfriend and her 19-year-old friend Sunday morning at the Strikers Family Sports Center on North Anderson Road. Their refusal to speak to Adkins angered him, according to a Rock Hill police report.
When the victims left the center heading south on Heckle Blvd, Adkins and two passengers followed them in a black Cadillac onto Cherry Road, police say. He pulled up to them several times asking them to stop, the report states.
As the victims began making a U-turn at Heckle Blvd and Albert Street, Adkins allegedly struck the car’s side tire, disabling the vehicle police say. He drove off, and came back to side swipe the driver’s side before leaving, police say. The ex-girlfriend requested emergency medical services for a possible head injury.
Police found Adkins at his father’s house on St. Katherine’s Way. Adkins was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder. Adkins had previously faced burglary, public disorderly and drug charges starting in 2013.
