A South Pointe High School student was detained by police after they discovered he had a knife at Friday’s football game.
A Rock Hill Police report released Tuesday states that a 15-year-old slapped another student in the face. The boy hit the other teen because they were friends, he told police.
Police escorted the student off school grounds. An officer conducted a pat down search and found a silver and brown folding pocket knife, the report states.
The student was taken into custody and taken to the Rock Hill Police Department. He was issued a juvenile summons and charged with carrying a weapon on school grounds. The student was later released to his godmother.
