A Valdese man was brought to Rock Hill this week to face armed robbery charges for a February incident.
On Feb. 9, Brandon Auman, 25, was accused of entering the Walgreen’s on Oakland Avenue that morning and gave the cashier a note demanding prescription medication or he would kill him, according to a Rock Hill Police report. Auman reportedly presented a handgun to the cashier, police say.
The cashier gave Auman an undisclosed amount of Oxycontin and Hydromorphone in a bag and fled, police say.
Auman was detained by the Burke County sheriff’s office on Feb. 20, police say. The sheriff’s office requested to detain Auman pending extradition proceedings, the report states.

On Tuesday morning, Auman was transported from Warren Correctional Institute in Manson, N.C. to the Rock Hill jail.
He was served with warrants for armed robbery, Oxycontin trafficking, and two counts of possession with intent to distribute. He is held at the Rock Hill jail on an $80,000 bond.
