Rock Hill police got a chance to dispense some military justice this week.
Officers apprehended a man wanted by the U.S. Army for desertion on Monday when he happened to pass through Rock Hill.
At 4 a.m., officers received an alert that a wanted man had reportedly been spotted inside a convenience store on Tinsley Way. Phil Woodrow Mozie Jr., 30, of Columbia, was wanted by the Department of Defense for leaving his post at Fort Jackson, a police report states.
A patrol car spotted Mozie walking southbound on Interstate 77 near mile marker 78, and took him into custody without incident. Mozie was held briefly at the city jail before he was handed over to MPs from Fort Jackson.
