A police report released Wednesday offered few new details into the deadly shooting this week of a Rock Hill father of seven.
Antonio Heath, 41, was shot in the leg outside his Deerfield Run apartment Monday evening, according to the report. He was taken to Piedmont Medical Center, where he died.
Heath’s wife, Carrie, is listed as the complainant on the report, which included a brief, four sentence narrative. The report lists the suspects as “unknown” and did not provide a description of Heath’s attackers.
As of Wednesday morning, there have been no new updates or arrests, said Rock Hill Police spokesperson Mark Bollinger.
Police were told by witnesses and neighbors that two suspects fled the scene of the incident on foot, Bollinger said.
A K-9 unit tracked a scent to a nearby parking lot, where police believe the suspects then entered a vehicle and left the apartment complex.
Witnesses told police that the suspects had two handguns, but could not distinguish what type or brand.
Police did not specify whether the homicide was random or if Heath was targeted.
An autopsy report was not obtained from the York County Coroner.
