Police are investigating two burglaries last week at an apartment across the hall from where a Rock Hill father of seven was fatally shot.
The incidents took place at the Deerfield Run Apartments in the same breezeway where Antonio Heath, 41, was gunned down on Nov. 24. An arrest has still not been made in his homicide.
On Saturday afternoon, a 25-year-old woman reported to police that someone stole a 42-inch Sony flat-screen television, 50-inch Panasonic flat screen, and plastic jug of change containing $300 from her apartment, a Rock Hill police report states.
The total value of items stolen was more than $1,800.
Never miss a local story.
On Sunday afternoon, the woman reported another burglary of a third television – a 32-inch RCA valued at $500, the report states.
The woman and her live-in boyfriend, 24, told police they had not been at the apartment since the morning of Nov. 25, although she believes the break-in occurred between Saturday evening and Sunday evening.
They were planning to move out of the neighborhood because of the recent murder investigation, the report states.
Heath lived in Apartment A. The residents involved in the burglary live in Apartment D.
Rock Hill police spokesman Mark Bollinger said there are still no suspects to name in the shooting of Heath.
He could not say if there may be a connection between Heath’s death and the recent burglary at Apartment D.
The Rock Hill Police Department asks that anyone with information on this incident should contact York County Crime Stoppers at 1-877-409-4321.
