A Rock Hill Kmart worker is accused of taking money from her register and then damaging a hidden security camera at the Cherry Road store.
Another employee told police that Kayla Isom, 23, opened her cash register on Dec. 1 and removed $400. Later, she took Reese’s candy and ate it without paying, according to a Rock Hill Police report.
The employee placed a security camera hidden at the register to observe Isom’s actions. But Isom found the camera and damaged it to the point that it was inoperable, police say.
As the employee confronted Isom, she ran out of the store, the report states. Police could not immediately locate Isom at her Pleasant Grove Road residence.
Isom turned herself into police on Sunday afternoon. She was charged with breach of trust fraudulent intent and damage to personal property.
She is held at the Rock Hill jail on a $6,000 bond.
