Cigarettes valued at $18,000 were stolen from a tractor-trailer truck parked at a Rock Hill motel Tuesday night, according to a Rock Hill Police report.
A 40-year-old man from Henderson, N.C., told police he had parked his truck at the Royal Regency Inn on Riverview Road around 5 p.m. Monday.
The next morning, the man reported that 270 cartons of cigarettes had been stolen from the truck. The cigarettes were valued at $18,000, police say.
According to the report, a security video showed a white sports utility vehicle backing up to the rear of the trailer at about 8 p.m., and then two men unloading boxes from the trailer and putting them into their vehicle.
