A York man who claimed “bugs got into his pants” was arrested Sunday afternoon by York County deputies after allegedly exposing himself in front of a Lake Wylie store, police reports show.
Matthew Cook, 33, of York, remains in the York County jail under a $2,000 bond.
Deputies from the York County Sheriff’s office were called by a woman in the 4000 block of Charlotte Highway in Lake Wylie who reported that a man was near her vehicle exposing himself. Another witness also saw Cook exposing himself, deputies said.
When officers found and questioned Cook he told them “bugs got into his pants” while he was sitting on a wall and he “had to reach down into his pants to get them to go away,” the incident report shows.
