Eight teenage students were charged Thursday night with underage alcohol violations during a senior banquet.
Students from Marvin Ridge High School in Union County, N.C., were attending a banquet at Events at Manchester on Cinema Drive in Rock Hill, according to a police report.
Police say the school had informed the students it would be a zero-tolerance event. Officers say they discovered an open wine bottle, two water bottles half filled with liquor and empty beer cans while searching the parking lot.
Seven students were charged with purchase/possession of beer or wine by a person under 21, while another was charged with open container in a moving vehicle.
