Teen charged with attempted murder after shooting into Rock Hill home

A teenager has been charged with multiple counts of attempted murder after police say he fired into a Rock Hill home occupied by several people, including children.

Sylvester Thrower Jr., 18, was charged with five counts of attempted murder and weapons charges. He was in the Rock Hill city jailas of Thursday without bond, according to Rock Hill Police.

The shooting happened about 8:40 p.m. Sunday on Jefferson Avenue, according to a police report. The victim said she was inside the home with her children and roommate when they heard glass break in the bathroom. She went into the bathroom and saw the window broken with a projectile on the bathroom floor. The victim said she heard four or five gunshots near the Jefferson Avenue and Heyward Street area before the glass broke, police said.

No injuries were reported.
