Lancaster gunshot victim airlifted, police seek woman who fled scene

Lancaster police are searching for a woman who fled after allegedly shooting a man in the torso Monday morning.

Martina Aiesha Jenkins, 22, of Plyler Road, is wanted for attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to Capt. Scott Grant, a spokesman for the Lancaster Police Department.

Officers responded to a home on Plyler Road just after 9 a.m. Monday, Grant said. The male victim was shot once in the upper torso and airlifted to a hospital.

The victim told officers he got into an argument with Jenkins, who lived in the home, during which she shot him, Grant said. It’s not clear if Jenkins and the victim are romantically involved.

Grant said the female suspect fled in the victim’s truck, which was later recovered. Police are still searching for Jenkins and say she should be considered armed and dangerous. She is about 5-foot-5 and weighs 135 pounds.

Anyone with information on Jenkins’ whereabouts is asked to call the Lancaster Police Department at 803-283-3313 or the anonymous tip line at 803-289-6040.
