Potential candidates have just two more days to file to run for school board seats in several of the six school districts in York, Chester and Lancaster counties. At least three seats are up for election in each district.
Filing closes at noon Friday.
Just five of the 22 board seats up for election in November have more than one candidate who has filed to run. Three seats have no one filed to run for them.
The most contested seat is in Lancaster County’s District 1, where Melvin Stroble, Lew White and J.R. Wilt have all filed to run for the seat held by Don McCorkle.
Candidates must live in the election district in which they plan to run, unless they are seeking an at-large seat, in which case they can live anywhere in the school district. Filing for the election must be completed at a county elections office.
School board elections are non-partisan.
Election Day is Nov. 4.
