Eighth-seeded Sacha Jones of New Zealand and Ani Mijacika of Croatia will square off today in the singles finals of the Rock Hill Rocks Open tennis tournament.
Jones, ranked 212th in the world in women's singles, defeated third-seeded Lauren Albanese of the USA 6-1, 6-1 in the semifinals Saturday. Mijacika, ranked 311th, defeated Mirjana Lucic, also of Croatia, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4.
The doubles final will feature top-seeded team Sharon Fichman of Canada and Anna Tatishvili of Georgia against Americans Albanese and Jamie Hampton. The match is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Rock Hill Tennis Center and will be followed by the singles final. Both matches are free for fans to watch.
The Rock Hill Rocks Open is a $25,000 women's USTA Pro Circuit tennis tournament sponsored by the City of Rock Hill.
