ATLANTA -- Jeff Schaus had five hits with four RBI and two runs to lead Clemson to a 16-6 victory over Georgia Tech Sunday as the Tigers salvaged the finale of the three-game series.Clemson (26-25-1, 11-18-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) had 20 hits, after having only two runs and 14 hits in the first two games.
Trey Delk (2-1) held Tech (36-15, 14-13) to two runs on three hits before leaving with two outs in the sixth inning.
Brad Feltes hit his 14th homer for the Jackets.
• ARKANSAS 4, SOUTH CAROLINA 2 -- In Fayetteville, Ark., Dallas Keuchel had a career-high 10 strikeouts to lead Arkansas to a 4-2 win over South Carolina.
The Razorbacks (31-21, 13-13 Southeastern Conference) swept the series 3-0 against the Gamecocks (34-18, 13-14).
Arkansas held a 4-0 lead into the ninth inning, scoring on an RBI single by Aaron Murphree, an RBI double by Andy Wilkins and an RBI single by Casey Coon. Reliever Mike Bolsinger pitched the final inning, giving up two runs.
• COLLEGE BASKETBALL -- A former associate of USC freshman guard O.J. Mayo claims the basketball star received thousands of dollars in cash and other gifts from an event promoter over the past four years that would violate NCAA rules, ESPN reported.
Louis Johnson told ESPN's "Outside the Lines," that Rodney Guillory, a Los Angeles-based event promoter, gave Mayo about $30,000 and other benefits while he attended high school and his sole season at USC. Mayo has decided to forgo his sophomore year and enter the NBA draft.
Guillory received monthly payments from a Northern California sports agency Bill Duffy Associates, the network reported. A phone message left for the agency was not immediately returned.
