• Nominations for the 2009 York County Sports Hall of Fame inductions are due by Sept. 1. If you received a ballot and updated it, please return. If you got one that didn't need to be updated, keep it. They are copies. New nominations are also due by Sept. 1. Please turn in at York Tech's Baxter Hood Center on U.S. 21 or Slo Smokin BBQ on S.C. 161. For information, call Dennis Partlow at (803) 322-7202.

• The YMCA on Charlotte Avenue is currently taking registrations for GRA-Y football (11 and 12 year olds). All participants must have a birth certificate and play for the school they are attending or are zoned. The age cutoff is Nov. 30, 2008. Practices have started. All coaches are at the practice sites daily. Cost for registration: members $35, and non-members $45. For more information, contact Michael Herndon at the YMCA at (803) 329-9622.
