GREAT FALLS -- Pride was the theme of the night on Friday at Pride Valley as the Great Falls Red Devils pounced all over the Lions of Carolina Pride 46-2 to give coach Ken Schofield his 100th win at the school.
Even he wasn't safe from his Red Devils, as they gave him a Gatorade bath as the clock was winding down. The soaked coach didn't mind.
"I'm just so proud of this team and this town," Schofield said. "I have to thank the kids, fans and coaches for this accomplishment. I'm just lucky to be here to work for them."
Great Falls' defense was the one that resembled a pride of lions, as it piled up nine sacks for 54 yards in losses to give Carolina Pride minus-51 yards rushing. Great Falls also forced three turnovers (one for a score), and a blocked punt for a touchdown.
On offense the Red Devils were just as good, with 341 yards rushing. They averaged a first down on every rush, with 10 yards per carry. They had four backs with 74 or more yards rushing.
Terrance Jeter had 106 and one touchdown, Walter Lamar had 74 yards and two touchdowns and A.J. Squirewell had 76 yards and a touchdown to go with an interception and a caused fumble on defense.
