Nikki Haley held her last Christmas open house at the governor's mansion, Monday, December 5, 2016. The Columbia Garden Club decorated the mansion with three live Christmas trees from South Carolina farms and poinsettias grown by the Future Farmers of America from Lexington Technology Center. Another highlight was the gingerbread house made by the mansion's chefs.
Based on a shell count and the few loggerhead sea turtles found dead in the nest, 83-percent of the turtles made it out of the nest near Myrtle Beach. S.C.U.T.E. has monitored the nest daily since it was discovered a few months ago.

More than 600 runners and walkers flocked to Legal Remedy Saturday for the 7th annual Gobble Wobble 5K and 8K races. The Junior Welfare League held the event to raise money for Pilgrims' Inn, Rock Hill Parks Foundation and York County Council on Aging. After the race early Saturday, participants lined up for a cold beer at Legal Remedy.
More than 200 people gathered in Rock Hill Saturday morning to remember the life of Brother David Boone, one of Rock Hill’s most influential civil rights protesters.
Boone died Nov. 5 at age 84 after a long fight with cancer.
