King has shown his expertise
This letter is to inform the citizens of York County, of the reasons why they should support John King for South Carolina House of Representatives, District 49. King has proven himself to be a supporter of education. When the state education budget was cut and school resource officers were not being fully funded by the state, King found funds within Chester County's budget to retain the school resource officers and keep our schools operating in a safe environment.
With his assertiveness, dedication and sense of urgency, King is the person who will make sure that York County is not forgotten in the appropriation of funds for schools and neighborhoods, just as he has in the past. Not only does King seek to improve the educational dimension of South Carolina, he also seeks to create an economic outlet for our children to exhibit the skills and abilities they have acquired through our educational systems.
York County is home to some of the best school districts, one of the most recognized technical colleges in the state, and one of the nationally, top-10 ranked universities in the nation. One of King's missions is to attract more businesses to our area so that the students who graduate from these institutions can remain in the area, give back to the community and add to the prosperity of our historical region. His experience is the kind we need in the Legislature because he has proven to be an effective leader.
Never miss a local story.

Picture isn't an endorsement
Ms. Leah Moody, a candidate for the District 17 state Senate seat, has recently mailed a campaign piece that contained a photograph of me. I want to make it very clear that Ms. Moody's use of my photograph was done entirely without my knowledge or consent and does not, in any way, indicate my support for Ms. Moody.
Although I wish all of the candidates well, I have always made it a practice to decline any type of endorsements for candidates. If I choose to make an exception to that practice, I want it to be my decision, not someone else's.
