South Carolina takes stand against illegal immigration
Finally, elected officials doing the will of the people. If only we could get our dysfunctional federal government in Washington to do the same about stopping illegal immigration into our country.
Critics say that this legislation won't fix the illegal immigration problem. I, for one, think it will keep South Carolina from becoming a sanctuary state. Are these critics not aware that many states are passing or have passed similar legislation to halt this illegal invasion into their states, including Georgia, Oklahoma and Arizona? South Carolina has drawn a line in the sand that says we will no longer accept illegal aliens coming here to work. Businesses here are aware that there are legal work visas available for skilled and unskilled labor. This is the lawful & humane way to hire workers.
Thank you, state Rep. Gary Simrill, for standing up for the people on this issue which is costing our state and country a fortune. Thanks also to Terry Plumb for putting in his liberal 2 cents against this legislation.
