Fans of Louis Petrozza who tuned in to the final showdown in "Hell's Kitchen" on Tuesday night can be forgiven for screaming an anguished, "We was robbed!"

Call us biased, but we thought Petrozza, the catering chef for Winthrop University, had a superior menu, designed a better restaurant, managed his line cooks better and came across as a nice guy in the bargain. The chef who bested Petrozza, Christina Machamer, may be more photogenic (she resembles a rough-around-the-edges Reese Witherspoon), but we would take Petrozza's lobster strudel over her undercooked fish any day.

She will end up with the $250,000 job at one of top dog Gordon Ramsey's Vegas restaurants. But we doubt the loss will keep Petrozza down for long -- if at all.

The 47-year-old chef knows what he's doing, and the exposure on this grueling show can only enhance his culinary rep. We suspect he has a future beyond catering for Winthrop.

We salute him for taking on this challenge. We offer him condolences on finishing second (when he deserved to win!).

And we hope he decides to open a new restaurant in Rock Hill.
