Snowstorm wasn't too impressive

Wow, can you believe Rock Hill schools closed Wednesday due to that "dusting" of snow we had? They said it was because of the chance of icy roads, but I was all over town Wednesday morning and have seen worse conditions after a hard rain.

Seems to me that school officials wanted a "snow day " more than the kids.

Gov. Sanford loose with truth

For quite some time I have thought Gov. Mark Sanford to be a LIAR (Libertarian Imitating A Republican). With the information provided by Dr. DiGiorgio in the Thursday Herald, I now see that Gov. Sanford is also a liar.

Water bill is crucial

This is intended to thank state Sen. Wes Hayes for introducing the Fair Share Water Bill (S. 275) and to ask the citizens of York County to support this vital protection for the Catawba River. The law is intended to ensure the public's right to clean and sufficient water while still permitting the kind of economic growth that has made York County a business hub for decades.

Passage of the Fair Share Water Bill will help to protect our water supply. Without such protection, we are currently at a disadvantage as we attempt to craft a settlement related to the request by the N.C. cities of Concord and Kannapolis for interbasin water transfers from the Catawba River. Respecting seasonal flows and relying on the best data science can provide is critical to the protection of our water supply.

I believe that the Fair Share Water Bill, if passed, can provide existing and prospective industry and commerce with the water they need to flourish in South Carolina.

It looks like Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., and Gov Mark Sanford, R-S.C., have inherited the "Senator No" mantle of the late Sen. Jesse Helms, R-N.C.
