Nuclear weapons pose huge threat
This is an answer to Peggy Murdock's letter, “Christians must tend to planet.” Not only good Christians, but all members of the human race should be wary of the destruction of our planet, which will happen with a nuclear or WMD war. President Obama is in a position to put a stop to this before it can start by leading us as the first nation to dismantle our WMD and stop all nuclear energy projects until we find a safer way to get rid of the waste.
We are putting our future generations in danger. It took many years before we realized the pollution oil was causing to our atmosphere. This new nuclear danger can cause mutation, new disease. Is that what we want for our future generations?
To answer Iran's quest for cheap energy, tell them to use solar, which they have plenty of. By the way, we should start on wind power. Not soon, but now.

Racism plays part in town hall meetings
I am a white man who believes that after a black Democrat won over a white Republican for president, most white Republicans who were not already a racist, became one overnight.
I also believe that most of the white protesters at town hall meetings and those whites who protested against allowing a black president to give advice to their school child or children fit the mold.
I don't believe any of these people voted for Obama or helped send any Democrat to Washington. These people don't care about the poor, disabled, unemployed or uninsured. What they do care about is their own personal selfishness.
Where were these protesters when they found out that Bush used fear, lies and deception to fool millions of Americans and some members of Congress to get his war with Iraq started?
A war that should never have happened. A war that has drained almost $1 trillion and counting from our economy and thousands of American lives.
These are the very same people who helped make Bush's war possible, because they voted for him.
