Why bring terrorist suspects to New York?

I have a couple of questions for president Obama. Why are we bringing the 9/11 terrorists to New York City to try them? Of all places to bring them, why New York City? This is a slap in the face of these good people and an insult to a great American city.

These animals already have pleaded quilty to commiting this barbaric act. They already have requested to be executed. Why are we going to spend millions of taxpayers dollars to try these animals?

Obama desires the spotlight to put the Bush administration on trial as well as America itself. Bush and Dick Chaney, as well as our nation, will be on trial for the so-called attrocities, such as enhanced interrogation techniques, such as waterboarding and wiretaps. Obama should be ashamed!

Joe Wilson was right! Obama is a liar. He said, “I have no desire to put the CIA or the previous administration on trial. Let's look toward the future and not the past.” Judge for yourself. As for me, I say this a bald-faced lie.

President should work to reduce gas prices

After reading Joe Caldwell's recent letter, I just can't sit idly by being called “a sucker” by believing in my elected officials (most of the time), but draw the line when Mr. Caldwell blatantly says we finally have president who's on our side, and we should support him. I can't find one project to make that claim.

Am I the only one in the U.S.A. that is affected by the high cost of living, by the result of the cost of fuel? This is causing hardships for many Americans across the nation. Adding an extra tax on diesel fuel used by delivery trucks causes a rise in price of all items for the consumers. Instead of lowering the wage of executives, which didn't effect the working man with the tremendous profits the oil companies made, it would have been more helpful for the president, with his power, to get the price of fuel to a dollar a gallon.

Even the presence of the president at the Olympic meeting couldn't secure a site in the U.S.A. So far, he hasn't done anything worthwhile to gain support. So, Joe, you're being a sucker for the wrong man!

Why give terrorists a fair trial?

So, we are going to give a fair trial to our enemies, the terrorists? The following scenario makes me wonder if this even was thought out. Here we are, at the trial:

Day 1: “Khalid Sheik Mohammed, do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?"

What is this man going to say? He and his cohorts most likely do not know the meaning of most of those words! Is the government wasting my tax dollars? I think so.

What a joke!

Pardon a turkey this Thanksgiving

Last week, a failed vice-presidential candidate claimed that animals belong next to the mashed potatoes. This week, our president is pardoning two turkeys. It's food for thought.

Each of us has the presidential power to pardon a turkey this Thanksgiving. It shows our compassion for an innocent animal and our concern for our family's and our planet's health. It's a most fitting way to give thanks for our own life, health and happiness.

This Thanksgiving, I won't be calling the Poultry Hot Line or staying awake wondering how that turkey lived and died. I will be joining millions of other Americans in observing this holiday with healthful vegetables, fruits and grains.

A visit to my local supermarket or health food store and an Internet search on vegan Thanksgiving will provide me more recipes and delicious turkey alternatives than I possibly can use.

Good Samaritans in Rock Hill

I had accident near the Valeria gas station on Heckle Boulevard on Friday night! Three good men helped me with my damaged tires. Thanks to them for their kindness. I won't forget them!
