RADFORD, Va. -- Behind two solid pitching performances, Winthrop swept Radford in a doubleheader on Saturday. The Lady Eagles won Game 1 2-0 and Game 2 6-2.

In Game 2, Cari Wooldridge allowed no earned runs on four hits and Winthrop scored six unanswered runs. Wooldridge struck out five and walked a batter and Winthrop's bats pounded 14 hits.
Radford took advantage of three errors in the bottom of the first to take an early 2-0 lead. With two outs and runners at second and third, a low throw allowed Everhart and Rhodes to score.
The Lady Eagles tied it in the top of the second on RBI singles from Carole Reda and Sarah Magee.
Winthrop added four more in the top of the third, highlighted by home runs from Mallory Hogan and Lenny Stoddart. After the first run scored on an error, Hogan drilled a ball deep over the center field fence for a 5-2 Winthrop lead. With two outs, Stoddart ripped a round-tripper to center, making it 6-2.
