Despite an outstanding pitching performance from senior Michael Green, the third-seeded Winthrop baseball team fell 4-2 to top-seeded Radford on Friday morning’s Big South Conference tournament semifinals game at Gardner-Webb.
Brad Kaczka went 2-for-3 and scored the go ahead run to push the Winthrop baseball team past Campbell 2-1 in the Big South conference tournament on Thursday afternoon. The Eagles will now play top-seeded Radford in a semifinals game Friday at 10 a.m.
The Winthrop baseball team earned the No. 3 seed in the 2015 Big South Conference Tournament and will face No. 6 Campbell on Tuesday. The game will begin 45 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1 between No. 2 Coastal Carolina and No. 7 Charleston Southern that begins at 9:30 a.m.
Winthrop set three school records and had eight athletes earn All-Conference honors as the 2015 Big South Conference Track & Field Championships concluded on Saturday at High Point University’s Vert Stadium.
