The Winthrop men’s tennis team prevailed, 4-3, over Big South foe Campbell, on Yuta Hirokawa and Chase Altieri’s senior day Saturday, at Memorial Courts.
The Eagles jumped out to an early lead by capturing the doubles point.
Winthrop split the singles competition with Campbell, securing a regular-season finale victory for the Eagles.
The Eagles (13-9, 6-2) now head into the Big South tournament on Wednesday at Gardner-Webb.
Eagles tie for fifth: Winthrop tied for fifth place at the River Landing Intercollegiate in Wallace, N.C., while junior Taylor Dickson shot 2-under for the tournament and claimed third place in medal play.
Winthrop 7, Coastal Carolina 0: The Eagles (15-4, 8-1) shut out their Big South rivals on Andressa Garcia’s senior day, at Memorial Courts. The Eagles ended the regular season on a five-game winning streak.
